HeySnap Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the HeySnap Chrome extension handles information when you use it with the HeySnap web app.
What the Extension Does
The HeySnap Chrome extension connects the HeySnap web app to Chrome so you can run browser-control workflows from HeySnap. These workflows may include inspecting pages, managing tabs, capturing screenshots, downloading files, uploading files, using a managed browser window, and communicating with a local native bridge.
Information the Extension May Access
Depending on the action you request in HeySnap, the extension may access:
- Browser tab information, such as tab IDs, titles, URLs, active state, and window state.
- Page content or page state needed to complete a requested browser workflow.
- Screenshots or preview frames from browser tabs or windows.
- Download information needed to save files requested through HeySnap.
- File input information when you ask HeySnap to attach or upload files.
- Cookies or browser session information when required for a user-requested workflow.
- Local extension state, such as connection status and managed-window metadata.
- Messages exchanged between the HeySnap web app, the extension, and the local native bridge.
The extension only uses this information to provide browser-control features requested through HeySnap.
How Information Is Used
Information accessed by the extension is used to:
- Connect the HeySnap web app to Chrome.
- Perform browser actions requested by you through HeySnap.
- Inspect page state and return results to HeySnap.
- Capture screenshots or previews when requested.
- Manage tabs, downloads, uploads, and browser windows.
- Communicate with the HeySnap native bridge when local automation is required.
Data Sharing
The extension may share browser workflow results with the HeySnap web app so the requested workflow can continue. The extension may also communicate with the HeySnap native bridge installed on your device when local browser automation is required.
HeySnap does not sell personal information collected through the extension.
Remote Connections
The extension is configured to accept external messages only from approved HeySnap web origins. It does not allow arbitrary websites to connect to the extension.
Local Storage
The extension may store local state in Chrome storage, such as connection status and managed-window metadata. This information is used only to keep the extension working correctly.
Data Retention
The extension stores only the local state needed to operate. Workflow data is handled for the purpose of completing requested actions in HeySnap. Retention of any data processed by the HeySnap web app is governed by HeySnap's broader service policies.
Security
HeySnap uses Chrome extension permissions only to provide the browser-control functionality requested by users. Access is limited to configured HeySnap origins where possible.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and publish the revised policy.
